Kids With Purpose
What is KIDS WITH PUPROSE?
KWP is a service oriented children’s mission program. The goal is for children to learn about and share God’s love through actively serving people in our community. The KWP program helps children grow in their faith and grace to become active disciples through their service to others. This program is a powerful way to directly involve children in learning and living out our biblical mandate to love and serve our neighbors. The KWP program aims to instill a sense of Christian service and responsibility to our children through a series of sustained local missions that help the elderly, ill, needy and forgotten.
KWP is based on Matthew 22:39 “You shall love your neighbor as yourself”
KWP Mission
To make missions and service to others an everyday and lifelong activity for children.
At KWP we will:
- Bring faith to life through simple acts of service in God’s name.
- Define mission not as something we do, but as who we become.
- Develop children’s awareness that there are people and children in need.
- Develop children’s awareness that those in need may look “just like me.”
- Build and strengthen community through the children’s service to others.
KWP is held the first Sunday of every month from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Woodside UMC in Room 21. Dinner is provided for all children participating in KWP at 5:30 p.m.
