6th - 12th grades

Room 223: The youth group meets on Sunday’s in Room 223 after worship at 12 noon from September through June. Their meetings consist of devotions, Bible study, mission projects, field trips, retreats and much more. The youth are also very active within the church. They participate in worship as liturgist, scripture readers, acolytes, crucifers, and ushers. They also volunteer at Vacation Bible School.
The youth participate in a yearly retreat in Ocean City and have lock-ins at the church. The youth also organize fundraising activities to support disaster relief efforts around the world and participate in community service projects such as Arletta’s Pantry, a food pantry that serves the needy in the community, the Help the Homeless Mini-Walk and the Souper Bowl of Caring. This year they put their mission statement into action by raising funds for the Nothing But Nets campaign which is a global grassroots campaign to prevent malaria through the purchase and distribution of long-lasting, insecticide-treated mosquito bed nets in Africa. The youth set a goal of raising $1,000 to purchase 100 bed nets. They exceeded their goal and raised $1,110.00 and purchased 111 insecticide treated nets. During a Sunday worship service, the youth group ended their Nothing But Nets campaign on a high note by presenting an oversized check for $1,110.00 to the Baltimore Washington Conference.
