Prepare for Worship: July 6, 2008

Scripture Reading: Leviticus 25:1, 8-10, 18-19; Matthew 11:25-30

This Sunday

It's Lemonade Time Again! Stay after worship for a cool drink and warm fellowship, just outside the doors to the parking lot.

SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL BEGINS TODAY! Join us for some fun in Fellowship Hall for our Summer Sunday school class. The kids will be dismissed after the children's message and parents can pick them up in Fellowship Hall. Each week there will be a different theme with activities and singing. So come hear how God saves Noah and the animals, how you can help save baby Moses on the Nile, meet Moses at the Burning Bush, watch Jesus calm the sea, and much much more. You don't want to miss it. It will be lots of fun!

SUNDAY we will take a second offering to support our denominational apportionments. Our apportionments help fund United Methodist missions, disaster and hunger relief, education and church growth all over the world. Please give as generously as you can!

Sign up TODAY for the Habitat for Humanity Work Day, Saturday, August 30th, in Burtonsville, MD.  See Marcus Meeks (marcusmeeks@verizon.net) after worship to sign up or for more information.

Arleeta’s Pantry Grand Opening, Saturday, July 26th, 9:00-11:00 a.m.!  We need volunteers on Saturday mornings through the summer to help distribute food—please see Rebecca McGinnis to sign up after church today.   All through the month of July we will be taking your non-perishable food donations to get our food closet fully stocked and ready for our opening to the community.  Please bring canned goods, cereal and rice, and proteins (like canned tuna and peanut butter).  We will have two “work nights”, Tuesday, July 8th and 15th at 7:00 p.m. for those who want to come and help us get organized.  And on Sunday, July 20th we’ll have a special blessing for Arleeta’s Pantry following our “Christmas in July” worship service.
